Youth Outreach Bus Trust

Charity registered in Scotland SC042700

The Youth Outreach Bus Trust or ‘Red Bus’ as it has become known as is a converted double decker bus which has been completely re-designed inside to become a mobile youth drop in centre for ages s1-s6 (secondary school).

Youth Outreach Bus was an idea initially by the local community group P.A.R Dyce, in conjunction with members of Dyce Church over 2 years ago. The aim of the group was to provide an outreach platform to reach out to the young people in Dyce and to provide a safe and fun environment for them to meet.

Led by an enthusiastic and committed team of volunteers from all age groups, assisted by a part time youth worker, helps ensure the young folk are looked after and are kept safe and entertained while on the bus.

The bus currently operates in Dyce, but is mobile and we are actively looking to expand to working in other parts of Aberdeen as well.

Current opportunities

The Youth Outreach Bus Trust or ‘Red Bus’ as it has become known as is a converted double decker bus which has been completely re-designed inside to become a mobile youth drop in centre for ages s1-s6 (secondary school). The charity currently has some 15 volunteers who assist on a rota basis (with no less than 5 volunteers helping on any evening). The project has so far worked one night (Friday) but is looking to expand to working another 1-2 nights a week in other parts of Aberdeen. To help in this exciting development we are looking an efficient, self motivated individual to undertake the role of Project Co-ordinator/Administrator. This will involve aspects such as liaising with other charities, groups, individuals and to undertake associated administration duties. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to help with the only mobile youth drop in centre like this in Aberdeen. A great opportunity to help, make a difference for young people and the local community and be part of a friendly, supportive team of volunteers.
