If you have a love of history or enjoy cataloguing and administration this could be role for you.

Do you like chatting to people, then volunteering at the Aviation museum could be the role for you. The role covers both the museum shop and cafe. As well as selling entry tickets volunteers, keep the shop neat, tidy and well stocked and sell souvenirs to visitors. Connected to the shop is a small cafe area where volunteers sell light refreshments to visitors. Volunteers work in small teams to cover the shop and cafe so you will have company whilst you volunteer.

To keep exhibits in good order routine restoration and maintenance work is undertaken both on aircraft, the buildings and displays. If you have good basic DIY skills or a woodworking/engineering background this may be the role for you.

Dumfries & Galloway Aviation Museum is a small independent museum and is entirely run by volunteers. We are looking to recruit volunteers for our retail team. We are looking for friendly and customer focused people who want to work in a caring, friendly and supportive environment. You don’t have to be interested in aviation or heritage but we do ask that you are enthusiastic and have a willingness to learn. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking for work experience, looking to get back into the workplace or someone who just has a few hours to spare. You can volunteer as little as a few hours per week and if you feel that the shop is not the place for you, we have many volunteering opportunities throughout the museum. Your role as a retail assistant: Welcoming visitors to the museum Taking admissions Working the till Replenishing stock Keeping the displays tidy
