Garioch Community Kitchen exists to enhance the health and well-being of all sectors of the community in Central Aberdeenshire. We aim to provide a range of services including informative food workshops in a safe and supported environment, delivering practical and nutritional information and teaching transferable food skills. To work in partnership with other agencies and groups to promote healthy cooking and eating choices.


Current opportunities

Volunteer required to support the class facilitator (No experience required, and training will be provided) 1) Assist the class facilitator with preparations prior to class starting. 2) Monitor, assist and support the participants including children with their cooking, as required. 3) Help to pack their cooked goods to take home. 4) Assist participants in tidying up and helping the class facilitator to clean and pack everything away. 5) As this involves regulated work a PVG Disclosure is required *Times and dates of the courses are provided in advance for you to select your availability*

Garioch Community Kitchen (GCK) is a small Charity based in Wyness Hall, Inverurie. We exist to enhance the health and well-being of all sectors of the community in Central Aberdeenshire. We aim to provide a range of services including informative food workshops in a safe and supported environment, delivering practical and nutritional information and teaching transferable food skills in the Wyness Hall and on an outreach basis. We work in partnership with other agencies and groups to promote healthy cooking and eating choices. GCK are currently seeking to recruit Trustees to our Committee on a voluntary basis. We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic individuals who can contribute their knowledge and skill base to the Charity. It is essential our Committee is made up of people with varying skill sets and therefore we welcome applications from individuals from the private, public and/or third sector who do not have specific food or nutrition skills or knowledge but have an interest or are passionate about what we do. Due to succession planning we are looking to recruit a Vice Chair who would potentially take on the role of Chair. Other vacancies are for a Treasurer and general Committee members. Committee meetings are held quarterly, and Committee members are expected to attend, with email communication outwith these meetings. The Committee are responsible for the governance of the Charity, will be involved in strategic planning and support the Business Development Manager.
