Current opportunities

Place2Be works with over 280 primary and secondary schools, reaching a school population of more than 116,000 children. As a volunteer counsellor you will work one to one in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children per week. The commitment is for one day per week, for three school terms, from 8.30am to 4.30pm to include therapy sessions and supervision of clinical work. There may also be opportunities to get involved with group work alongside the School Project Manager.

Are you either a trainee or qualified counsellor or therapist? Would you like to join an organisation that makes a difference to the lives of children aged between 4 years and 14 years? Place2Be provides a high level of support to trainee / qualified counsellors through regular supervision, training workshops and offers a well-recognised clinical placement. We deliver a comprehensive induction programme and clinical supervision is undertaken at the end of each day. Sessions spent with children are accepted as clinical hours towards professional accreditation, and are recognised by the BACP and UKCP. We need you to be available for a minimum of one day per week to work in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children offering one-to-one counselling. Placements are term time only and run for one academic year. We are always looking for suitable counsellors on placement, so if you believe you have what it takes to thrive in this challenging, rewarding environment please apply.
