Medical Students need to learn how to interact with patients from an early stage in their training. The best way to attain these skills and gain experience in dealing with patients is to role-play the encounter in a relaxed, safe and non-threatening atmosphere. To facilitate this we require members of the public to simulate patients.
Current opportunity
We require volunteers from both sexes and all age groups who will pretend to be patients so that students can gain experience in dealing with patients in a relaxed and safe atmosphere. A simulated patient is someone who has been carefully trained to portray the emotional, symptomatic and physical characteristics of an actual patient. They are additionally trained to provide feedback to students on their performance during the simulated patient encounter.
