The Community Help & Advice Initiative delivers a range of social welfare and housing support services to the public in West and South Edinburgh. Volunteers are used in a number of capacities within the organisation to add value to the Project Services. Opportunities are available in Advice Services, Befriending Support and Driving/Supporting older people


Current opportunity

To help provide advice in a welfare rights office. You will, after training and mentoring, be able to interview clients and provide information whilst being supported by our team. You will be able to offer practical assistance such as filling in forms and writing letters as well as doing arithmetic calculations for benefit entitlement. After training you will have a good knowledge of other agencies and will be able to refer clients as needed. You will be required to record cases and statistics.
