The Hospice provides care for patients with a life limiting illness and support for those close to them. This is carried out through a range of services including in patient ward, day services, out patients and family support.
Day Unit - Bringing patients to and from our day unit is a very rewarding role. You get to know people and are providing an extremely valuable service at the same time.
Monday - Friday : 10am - 3pm

Other duties to support the smooth running of the shop
Volunteering as a member of our Charity Retail Drivers team, you will use the Hospice vehicles to assist with the collection and distribution of stock between our 18 shops and warehouse around Glasgow. Each shop is unique within the community, therefore it is crucial that the stock is delivered to the selected shop to ensure we generate and maximise our income in support of the Hospice.
Promote and raise the profile of the Hospice throughout the local community and the importance of raising funds through the shops; Deliver and collect stock in a Hospice vehicle to the required location within specific timescales and in a safe manner; Carry out the transfer of donated goods between shop locations working in cooperation with the Shop Managers; Deliver and collect small furniture items to and from customers homes; Assist in maintaining vehicles to a good standard by promptly reporting any suspected defects; Undertake any other duties as and when necessary; Understand the importance of confidentiality at all times and maintain high standards with regard to communicating information in a confidential manner.
Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice are looking for volunteers to join their team and to get involved within their charity shops throughout various locations in Glasgow and the surrounding areas.
As a volunteer you will enjoy working within a professional team providing a high quality retail service, assisting in the day to day running of the shop and meeting agreed performance targets to maximise sales and profitability. You can be talking to customers and helping them with their shopping experience, serving customers and help create eye-catching and stylish window displays. It is important that volunteers understand the importance of raising funds through the shop and are able to promote and raise the profile of the Hospice throughout the local community.
