Current opportunity

Becoming a voluntary citizen advocate gives you a unique opportunity to meet and get to know someone living in your local area who needs the trusted, loyal and independent support of a long-term friend and advocate. Citizen Advocates help people who are looking for support to voice their views and thoughts on what is really important to them but who find it hard or impossible to do so by themselves because of a disability or mental health issue. Citizen Advocacy also supports people to become more included and active within their community, for example by joining groups or taking up sports and hobbies of interest to them. Our advocates tell us: Being a citizen advocate is interesting, fun and very fulfilling It brings out the best in me It is a friendship but much more I would recommend it to anyone who cares about others.
