Muirhead Outreach Project Limited

Charity registered in Scotland SC035629

At the Muirhead Outreach Project our mission is to keep families together in their communities through challenging times. By providing early interventions (through 1-2-1 support and group work) we want to reduce the need for children to have to spend time in residential care.

Current opportunities

Do you have an interest in working with children and Young People? We have clubs that run 3 evenings per week (during term-time) and daytime clubs (during school holidays). We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and keen to engage and work with them to get the most out of their time at the club. Club duties will include: - Supervision of children and activities - Facilitating conversations with and between the children - Transporting children to and from club or off site activities - Supporting the team with preparations for the club as required - Be a visible presence among the group and upholding the values of the charity

The primary aim of Muirhead Outreach Project is to support vulnerable children, young people and their families through difficult, chaotic times with an aim of assisting them to remain at home, and to refer on to other professional agencies when necessary. Volunteers can help reduce loneliness and isolation for our families by providing practical and emotional support as well as building positive relationships. Dependant on the individual you are supporting, this may involve going out the house for a coffee or a walk, support to attend local groups, getting to appointments or just being a listening ear. By sharing your time and friendship in this way, our volunteers offer the parent/child the opportunity to build their confidence, develop new skills and enjoy family life

Coming up with innovative ways you can think of to raise money that also involve the families we work with.
