CLEAR stands for Community-Led Environmental Action for Regeneration. We work to improve the local environment and build civic pride and engagement through planting, community gardening, heritage and community art, events, learning and advocacy
Clear are looking for a volunteer to assist with online resources, updating the website, website development, promoting upcoming events, social media updates on goings on at Clear and generally promoting their activities as widely as possible.
Clear is an environmental charity which works with volunteers from all walks of life. This position is ideal for an outgoing, friendly person who wants to gain new skills, meet new people, build confidence and be part of a service making a real difference with local communities.
Are you interested in gardening? Able to carry out activities independently, after training/guidance? Experience in horticulture or gardening helpful but training can be given. You will have an opportunity to plant and grow crops/fruit/veg which can then be cooked as a meal or handed out to the community to help improve health.
Or perhaps you have skills you are willing to share?
Volunteers will be part of a supervised team. Appropriate training (certified) will also be offered. The Buckhaven Growing Space has a polytunnel, composting toilet, tool sheds, allotments and an established orchard. One of CLEAR's volunteers won FVA Volunteer of the Year in 2017 and several years previously.
The Methil Community Garden is newer but also has a children's planting area. CLEAR can show you both to help you decide which one you'd like to volunteer in. Can't get childcare? Bring the kids along and get them involved. Both gardens are a safe space with secure gates to make the whole area enclosed.
CLEAR is a small charity comprised of local residents and is involved in a range of actions including planting and growing, community art and heritage, workshops and more.
This is your chance to get involved in community improvements to the neglected Buckhaven and Methil area.
CLEAR are looking for more local people to step up and share their views about practical ways to regenerate the community. The Management Committee meets monthly in Buckhaven to discuss local issues and practical ways in which the issues can be tackled. They’re looking for any local resident to take part in a monthly evening meeting which will guide the charity and seek to make a positive difference for the place and the people.
Don’t just sit and moan about how things are going but come along and see how we can all make improvements!
CLEAR is wanting to gain an aerial overview of communicability gardens and may outreach planting sites where they have worked and will do more in future. The sites are all in the wider Buckhaven and Methil area but include the surrounding countryside, roadside verges as well as some community events. This would help not only record what has been done but also identify what more could be done by way of planing. Photos can also be used in informational and promotional work. They are looking for an experienced (or at least reasonably expert) drone operator/photographer to carry out this photographic survey. This can generally be done on days/times to suit although coverage of occasional community events would be helpful. It would be good to have photos of the same sites in different seasons. There are at least 15 main sites but many more smaller sites planted plus severe coastal erosion south of Buckhaven
