KASP has a befriending service and are looking for people age 16+ to provide this to vulnerable adults in Fife.
Befrienders will be fully trained and matched to both males and females who access KASP services who have requested a befriender. Most Befriendee’s will have already accessed KASP services and will have received counselling and support from trained and experienced workers.
Befrienders will meet regularly with their matched person and offer support, social activities or just share a cuppa and talk.
Full support and training will be offered throughout their time at KASP. They also take into consideration befriender’s skills, experience and knowledge which can offer a positive befriending experience. Befriending can offer a supportive, trusting relationship and can contribute to a person’s wellbeing.
For the befriender it can help you develop skills and knowledge and may help you get back into paid work through your own skill development.
