Home-Start Dunfermline

Home-Start Dunfermline

Charity registered in Scotland SC006806

Home-Start Dunfermline is a voluntary organisation which provides support, friendship and practical help to families in their own homes, through 1:1 volunteer home visiting, helping to prevent family crisis and breakdown. Home-Start also runs a family group once a week in Dunfermline. We work with families which have children under the age of 5 in the Dunfermline and South West Fife areas. Families can be referred through their health visitor or other professional workers, and we also accept self-referrals.

Current opportunity

Home-Start offers one-to-one personalised support for parents with children under 5. Home-Start places trained volunteers alongside parents and support is provided for as long as the family needs it. Trustees make up the governing body of Home-Start Dunfermline and have a responsibility to ensure that the charity's activities are carried out in accordance with the Trustee and Investment (Scotland) Act 2005. Trustees ensure that the organisation complies with requirements under both Charity and Company Laws, in addition to other laws such as Employment, Health & Safety etc. Board meetings are held bi-monthly and the trustees take an active part in the discussions and decision-making.
