The Hospice aims:

To provide specialist inter-disciplinary palliative care to patients suffering from life threatening cancer and other appropriate terminal illnesses.

To provide continuing support into bereavement to carers, relatives and friends.

To act as an education and resource centre for health care professionals and others interested in furthering the work of palliative care.

To initiate and participate in audit and research projects within the field of palliative care.

To consolidate, expand and improve these services to achieve the highest possible standard of palliative care within a cost which is affordable.


Current opportunity

We are looking for friendly Retail Volunteers in our shops throughout Ross-shire and Inverness - Tain, Alness, Beauly, Inverness & Nairn Could you help us raise much needed funds for the Highland Hospice? You only need to spare a few hours in the morning or afternoon, we have various shifts available and there is a warm welcome for all our volunteers. Our shops help fund Hospice care in the Highlands. Retail volunteers work as part of a much valued team with the Shop Manager. Volunteers keep the shop open and help us generate income from the sale of donated and new goods. We are looking for volunteers to cover either a morning or afternoon shift in our local shops during the week or on a Saturday. We are looking for volunteers to provide high standards of customer care, have a friendly and positive attitude, to assist with sorting and pricing donations, operating the till alongside assisting us to keep the shop tidy and clean. In this role you will learn about the important work of Highland Hospice and how the shop supports this valuable work throughout the Highlands Taster sessions are also available for interested volunteers.
