Royal Voluntary Service
Charity registered in Scotland
RVS. aims to help people maintain independence and dignity in their own homes and communities, particularly in later life. This strategy places increased emphasis on: - Food delivered to the home - Extending the service we provide in hospitals to include not just cafes and shops but also patient support and get-you-home service - Community help schemes that support independence for older and housebound people at home and in their community - Emergency services to support those vulnerable through national or other disasters
Do something amazing - Volunteer today. We urgently need more volunteers in FIFE to help people in your local community. If you have a few hours to spare our volunteers will ensure our clients are transported safely to and from various medical and personal appointments. Expenses will be reimbursed
Use own car to drive RVS clients to and from social and medical appointments.
Supporting older and vulnerable people throughout Perth and Kinross in their homes by carrying out tasks such as shopping and dropping, assisted shopping, accompanied walks, chair based exercises or taking them out into the community; all to reduce their isolation and build their confidence.
To assist in the provision of a pre-cooked lunch to RVS clients once a week that enables our older and vulnerable people to get out of the house and engage with other people with a hot meal included. Be able to serve the food and provide hot and cold drinks and chat with the clients. Lunch Club locations are Perth, Bridge of Earn and Crieff. The Social Club is every 2 weeks in St Matthews Church in Perth where volunteers are required to help serve hot and cold refreshments and engage with clients by chat, games and entertainment.
