From our bases in Edinburgh and Glasgow, Move On works with vulnerable young people and those affected by homelessness.
We offer a range of services providing advice, training, guidance and support enabling vulnerable young people and those affected by homelessness to unlock their potential and achieve a range of positive outcomes. These positive outcomes include; securing or progressing towards a job, accessing and sustaining a home, building confidence, growing support networks and increasing life skills.

Current opportunity

Move On is looking to train mentors in the Lothians to mentor vulnerable young people aged 8-14 who have been referred through the Intandem project. Intandem is a national initiative aimed at supporting and inspiring the most vulnerable children in Scotland and works solely with those who are under active care supervision orders or are in Kinship Care. We welcome volunteers of any age, background and circumstance. Move On provides extensive training to all volunteers prior to becoming a mentor and offers ongoing support during the match through a dedicated worker at Move On. All costs are covered for any activities as well as any travel costs incurred. Volunteers will be expected to collect mentees from their home for meetings and drop them off safely afterwards. Wherever possible we will keep mentors and mentees within a similar geographical area, though volunteers can specify where they would like to be based. We hope to hear from you!
