Current opportunities
Control of stock flow and maintaining inventory. Supervise the clearing and organisation of the warehouse. Liaising with the furniture shop/electrical workshop in connection with shop stock and deliveries. Ensure you keep within the Health & Safety practice in connection with the warehouse. Liaise with the Development Officer in connection with the uplift and deliveries.
Receiving calls for uplifting furniture regarding all details. Fill out uplift forms organising delivery throughout East Lothian. Logging all information onto Database. Prioritise daily work routes. Control of stock flow and maintaining stock inventory. Respond appropriately to enquiries made from members of the public, any other appropriate tasks as may from time to time be required. Ensure confidentiality at all times. Monitor and evaluate the Project through the efficient keeping of records. Excellent communication skills both orally and written. Ability to work on own initiative.
Must be over 21 years of age, must be fit and able to lift heavy furniture. Assist with the cleaning of the vehicle at the end of each week also ensure proper care of the vehicle. Help with the cleaning and organisation of the warehouse. Must have the ability to use own initiative and work under pressure. Good knowledge of East Lothian.
Assist with the driving of the van for those in possession of a driving licence.
Recycling First, are looking for a volunteer Electrical Appliance Tester or Electrician with the appropriate skills to carry out test of electrical items, which have been donated, to ensure that they are safe to sell and hand out to our clients on our referral list. This will entail undertaking a combination of rigorous visual and physical inspections of appliances as well as use of a Portable Appliance Tester.
