Carers of East Lothian

Charity registered in Scotland SC027000

Carers of East Lothian supports adults in East Lothian who are looking after a family member or friend who is ill, disabled or frail. We help carers to get information and services to help their individual caring role, enhance their own well-being and strengthen their collective voice to improve services.

Current opportunity

We have been awarded a grant from the Scottish Government, with the purpose of increasing the range and choice of breaks from caring for unpaid carers. This enabled us to set up the Carers of East Lothian ‘Time for Me’ Fund, offering individual grants to carers across East Lothian who are in need of financial help to support them to get a break from their caring situation. We’re seeking a volunteer to help with the administration of this programme and support the lead worker on the project, with full training provided. CoEL is a welcoming, friendly team of staff and volunteers with genuine enthusiasm for the work we do.
