North Berwick Youth Project

Charity registered in Scotland SC020152

We run a youth facility in North Berwick providing an environment which will help inform young people about life issues, e.g. drugs, alcohol, relationships. To encourage the young peoples integration into their community through positive promotion and joint working with other organisations.
We also run the ZAP Group, a weekly youth club for young people with additional support needs from East Lothian. Open to young people aged P7 to 18 years.

Current opportunities

Our Youth Project and ZAP Youth Club simply could not operate without the wonderful volunteers who selflessly donate their time. Volunteers make the experience more enjoyable for young people and we ensure that our volunteers are supported into training opportunities as well as receiving regular support within the organisation. Volunteering with ZAP is a hugely rewarding experience and brilliant fun. It is also a great opportunity for anyone thinking of working with children or adults with additional support needs to have a ‘taster’ that working environment. Volunteer expenses are paid for travel, up to £5 per session.

Our Vision at NBYP is to work with young people to create an environment where they are given responsibility and the opportunity to make positive change in their lives and communities. We enjoy working with partner organisations such as the local high school and Coastal communities museum. Projects volunteers can support include drop–in sessions, cookery group, YOUth Culture Project, ZAP group and other events such as fundraisers. Gain Saltire / Dynamic Youth Awards. The Project is open : Tuesday 4pm – 7pm Wednesday 4.30pm – 6pm Thursday 6pm – 8pm Friday 12.30pm – 6pm. Times can be variable throughout the year as we give young people the opportunity to choose opening times.
