Citizens Advice Bureaux are local, independent charities that provide free and confidential advice and information whoever you are and whatever your problem. There is a CAB in almost every community in Scotland, across almost 300 locations, helping more that 260,000 people each year.


Current opportunities

Front Desk and Administration volunteers will be responsible for the smooth running of our appointment system as you will be the first point of contact for our clients. You will be working closely with the rest of the team as well as using your own initiative when the need arises. You will also be responsible for completing postal tasks and updating record systems along with any admin duties as required by the General Advice Manager.

Volunteer General Advisers are the backbone of Citizens Advice Bureau. As a volunteer General Adviser you will conduct appointments with clients and provide them with advice and options to their enquiry. This will be done after researching information on client's various queries with the use CAS databases and other online information services so good IT skills are essential. General Adviser's will also be expected to upkeep client and case records to required standard. Full training and ongoing support will be given to general advice volunteers

What might you be doing? • Greeting clients and visitors to the bureau • Writing letters, memos, emails, etc. for colleagues • Updating databases and information systems • Filing and photocopying • Taking minutes at meetings • Answering the telephone and taking messages where appropriate • Ordering stationery and other supplies • Completing social policy information forms • Ordering and organising information leaflets Citizens Advice Bureaux are local, independent charities that provide free and confidential advice and information whoever you are and whatever your problem.
