Current opportunities

We are looking for a driver to pick up donations to the scrapstore in our our van. The scrapstore is home to clean surplus resources collected from mostly business and industry for re-use as art, craft, play and educational materials. This is an opportunity to do something a bit different with a proactive and exciting environmental and educational community organisation while meeting new people, making new friends or doing something to help the environment. Some of our volunteers have got the bug to make things while others just like being involved in what is a fun and productive team.

We're looking for positive, pro-active people to work with our existing Trustees and Directors to help ensure we're promoting the reuse of materials for the benefit of the local community through creativity, education & training, now and in the future. This is a hugely rewarding opportunity to volunteer with a group of enthusiasts who have helped develop Remake Scotland into a thriving, energetic, inclusive charity working within our local community. The Remake Scotland Board currently meets every second month. Board meetings and preparatory reading (along with advice via e-mail / telephone) amounts to about no less than four hours each calendar month. The minimum commitment expected is three years with the option of retirement at the annual AGM. Remake requests a 3 month transition period for any exiting Trustees and longer for any Trustee holding office (Chair, Treasurer, Company Secretary). Experience required: We particularly welcome applications from people with a background in finance, human resources, education and voluntary sectors.

We are looking for a number of retail assistants to help keep the Scrapstore thriving and provide support to those running community classes. Opportunities include serving customers, handling cash, dealing with affiliation enquiries, sorting out donated items so that they can be sold within our scrap store, answering customer queries or helping to run fun & creative community classes.
