The Allotment Market Stall (TAMS) is a community project collecting and selling excess allotment produce.

Current opportunities

The Allotment Market Stall provides good-quality, well-priced, locally grown fruit and vegetables and reduces waste. We have opportunities this season for volunteers to be a part of developing our nature friendly market garden. To join in with the cultivation of a nature friendly market garden (approx. 2 hours Friday lunchtime or Sunday afternoon throughout the year. We are flexible regarding how many shifts. It can be every week or just a one off according to your availability). Would suit someone who enjoys outdoors and nature and wants to be part of a community project promoting local food growing. Main tasks involve: • Help make and plant up our no dig beds. • Sowing seeds and looking after them. • Planting and tending fruit and veg. • Garden maintenance and DIY. Full training will be given. Volunteers will be accompanied and supported at all times. We have opportunities for people to help assist our driver to collect allotment produce from around Aberdeen (approx 3 hours on Thursday afternoons for the growing season (mid July to end Oct). Just as many Thursdays as you are available, so it could be each week or even just one off). Would suit someone who enjoys outdoors and has an interest in local fruit and veg growing. Main tasks involve: • Visit allotment sites. • May have contact with allotment holders. • Help load/unload produce into van. • Help Weigh and Record amounts of produce collected. Full training will be given. Volunteers will be accompanied and supported at all times. The role would suit someone who enjoys outdoors and meeting people and has an interest in local produce and running a market stall selling allotment grown fruit and veg. Main tasks involve: • Help set up the stall with gazebo, tables and crates. • Sell fruit and vegetables to public. • Help promote The Allotment Market Stall and the values of growing and eating good stuff. • Engage with public to answer questions on our produce.
