Current opportunity

We are a volunteer led charity, working across the towns in the Scottish Borders, seeking a numerate person to take over as treasurer from November 2020. Borders Youth Theatre has been running youth drama projects for over 30 years; bringing fun, skills and a team experience to young people who take part in our productions. During the coronavirus lockdown our activities have been run via ZOOM and we expect to continue using ZOOM for trustee meetings and welcome applications from any location. The role involves bookkeeping, helping the part time coordinator to budget projects, reporting financial matters to the trustees, paying bills and invoices from our team of self-employed drama practitioners, helping with the money issues in grant applications and working with our external examiner to prepare year end accounts. An understanding of how small charities operate, with restricted funds, would be helpful but not essential.
