We all need to stay at home to protect ourselves and others. However, those who are well and not at risk can provide essential support for their family, friends and neighbours who cannot leave the house.

Volunteer Centre Borders

Charity registered in Scotland SC026063

Current opportunity

With the support of Volunteer Centre Borders you could plan projects, support young people in having a voice in the Third Sector, help local charities, promote the Saltire Awards scheme...with benefits to get training and various awards along the way! This is open to anyone from 12 - 25 years of age. This group will help to change the way the Third Sector see young volunteers. You will meet as a group once a month to plan projects, look at gaps in volunteering, and share your knowledge with the wider Borders. You will also be the leading link between young people and the schools/colleges in helping to focus volunteering as a priority for young people in achieving active involvement in social change. You will decide as a team how to highlight important issues around young people and volunteering in the Scottish Borders and how to involve your peers in celebrating the positive contributions young people make in the Third Sector in the Scottish Borders. We will be looking at all members receiving awards such as Youth Achievement Award and Dynamic Youth Award. Young people involved will also be invited to take part in community meetings to have their say. We would like involvement from every area in the Scottish Borders (Peebles, Hawick, Galashiels, Earlston, Lauder, Duns, Kelso, Jedburgh and Eyemouth) so that we can hear the voice of all young people across the region.
