Yusuf Youth Initiative
Charity registered in Scotland
The Yusuf Youth Initiative is a dynamic youth led organization aspiring to nurture leaders of tomorrow. We provide enriching programs incorporating accreditation in sports, volunteering and the development of social action projects that will encourage young people from the BME community to grow, strive and become change makers in a vibrant and changing society.
The opportunity involves working to become well informed on current projects by liaising with project leaders. The volunteer will also carry out relevant research in order to then fill out our funding applications and also be required to meet with funders. There will also be scope for you to find and inform project leaders of other funding opportunities.
Victoria Gardens is a new exciting urban growing/social space located on the edge of Balgay Park. We have exciting plans for the space including a community kitchen and picnic benches. We are looking for volunteers to help maintain the organic produce, support the development of our community kitchen by installing shelving, and to bring a sense of creativity in making the space a fun and enjoyable space for all.
The Yusuf Youth Initiative (YYI) was set up in 2004 by a group of young enthusiasts who are driven by the desire to work for their community and improve their society. The group have undertaken a number of community projects on a local and national scale.
