Current opportunities

Our vision is a world where power and resources are more equitably shared amongst the world’s people, where human rights are valued and respected, and where people are living sustainable lifestyles within the environmental limits of the planet. We promote and practise Global Citizenship Education by supporting teachers, schools and community groups in Angus, Dundee, Fife and Perth & Kinross with professional learning and the provision of mentoring, advice and resources. Being a trustee offers the opportunity for professional development. It can let you gain experience of strategy and leadership, and boost your CV. It will give you experience of influencing direction and managing risk.

Over the past 38 years the OWC has worked with schools and community groups across Tayside to increase understanding of issues of global, social and environmental justice. We believe that how we behave locally impacts on the lives of others globally. Our Global Citizenship Ambassadors would be expected to lead community group sessions exploring the links between our lives and those of people throughout the world - for which training will be given. Our volunteers will be supported by trustees of the OWC. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who want to make a difference.
