Current opportunity

Do you want to support Muslim and BME woman across Scotland? This opportunity with Amina MWRC will train you to take and respond to calls received on our Scottish national Helpline. You will receive 3 days of training to understand the needs and experiences of the women who call, and to learn how to respond empathetically and effectively, followed by further practice “mock calls” to prepare you for the role. Calls can vary from questions about social connections to domestic abuse and homelessness issues. You will take at least 1 3-hour shift per week on the Helpline, responding to all calls received. All volunteers have support available 9.30am-5pm throughout the week, team building days and extra training available to develop their skills. Amina's volunteers are women from diverse backgrounds and of all ages. Volunteers are currently all working from home. Amina MWRC staff are based out of Glasgow.
