Cosgrove Care (East Renfrewshire)
Charity registered in Scotland
All the work carried out by Cosgrove Care is underpinned by a strongly held set of values and beliefs known as the values of inclusion. This philosophy, where all people, regardless of ability, are seen to be citizens of worth, drives us in our mission to support people who are isolated or at risk of isolation to take power and control in their own lives. Our work is about Justice, Empowerment, Relationships, Trust and Support.
Would you give up a small amount of your time to make a huge difference to someone’s life?
Cosgrove Care is an established, local charity providing high quality services to children and adults with learning disabilities.
We are seeking a female volunteer befriender, preferably a car driver, for a mature woman that we support. If you enjoy television soaps and drama series, going for a coffee and a chat, getting out and about, possibly visiting the odd museum then we would like to hear from you.
The woman we support is easy going, fun to be with and enjoys a good chat and a laugh. She is seeking a befriender with a kind, gentle manner.
Please get in touch with us if you are sensitive to the needs of others, are patient and understanding and have good listening skills. Two references and a Disclosure PVG check will be carried out. If you would like to find out more then please contact our Volunteer
Co-ordinator, Lauren Jarvis Tel 0141 620 2500 email@example.com

It is also a good opportunity for someone interested in gaining experience of supporting adults with a range of learning disabilities, to get the most out of their time in a creative setting
