Current opportunities

The volunteer would initially help facilitate our female carers peer support group by supporting a member of staff with the role. The role includes arranging and booking premises for the monthly group, welcoming carers to the group, interacting and listening and arranging speakers that are requested by carers to attend the group on occasion. When the volunteer is confident, staff member would hand over the role to the volunteer.

The volunteer role would be to go out for a local health and wellbeing walk with an individual living with dementia, this could be to the nearby park or the local library. This role could have a real impact on the individual living with dementia while also making a real difference to the carer who is looking after this person, by providing them with a much needed short break. This volunteering opportunity is both rewarding and worthwhile and flexible while also providing the chance to learn and develop new skills. We provide training, on-going support, paid expenses and disclosure check.
