* Greeting people who come in and signposting different organisations/groups depending on their interests or needs (giving community information)
* Serving those who attend the Market Place in our café
* Conversing with people who come into the building and register an interest in volunteering
* Ensuring the area is clean and tidy
The role will involve speaking to people who don’t have an arranged appointment but have dropped in to speak to someone about Talking Points.
The signposter’s role may be to help find out what information the person needs and to help guide them towards this. If however, the person informs you that they need to speak to someone from the Talking Points team or you feel they would benefit from having a more in-depth conversation, you would ask them to take a seat whilst you notify a member of the team.
The co-ordinator’s role will be to help find out what information the person needs and to help guide them towards this.
This role would also involve supporting and managing other volunteers within their roles. This will involve taking the volunteers through their initial induction when starting their new role.
