Gorbals Recycles Project is a community led Scottish charity founded in 2004. The two main aims of the Project are to divert as much domestic waste from landfill as possible while providing high quality services and products for sale to local people.
The Project now boasts three retail outlets across the city, provides employment for ten people and supports an average of fifty training and work experience placements per year.
The Project has been supported by lottery funding over the last four years but works hard to be sustainable, all income generated through sales and services goes back in to running the business.
The Project accepts donations from all areas of Glasgow and her environs, during 2011 the Project prevented a total of 1238 metric tonnes of waste from going landfill. During that year we also assisted 17 households with low cost or free furniture packages and over a hundred emergency clothing packages
