15th Glasgow Scouts - Eaglesham & Waterfoot

Charity registered in Scotland SC040378

Scouting is a worldwide Movement, with a membership of over 28 million. In Scotland, The Scout Association is responsible for the provision of Scouting; challenge and adventure for young people aged between 6 and 25, including males and females. It is all about fun with a purpose – helping members to fulfil their potential as individuals and active members of society. We believe that young people develop most when they are learning by doing, when they are given responsibility, work in teams, take acceptable risks and think for themselves. Everything we do is guided by the balanced programme which is a continuous progression of training, activities, badges and awards for young people from 6 to 25.

Do you have a couple of hours spare to help young people in your local community? We are looking for volunteers to support the operation of the Eaglesham Beaver Colony (age 6 - 8) in delivering our programme of activities. Beaver Scouts are boys and girls aged between six and eight years old; they belong to the first and youngest Section in the Scouting family. Young people can join Beaver Scouts in the three months leading up to their sixth birthday. Easily recognised by their distinctive turquoise sweatshirts, Beaver Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits and helping others. The level of your involvement is entirely up to you and could vary from helping out for a couple of hours each week at the local Scout Hall to participation in outdoor weekend events & challenges.
