Home-Start Deeside, Alford and Strathdon

Charity registered in Scotland SC038044

Home-Start Deeside is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the positive sides to family life.
Many parents can feel overwhelmed or exhausted by the stresses and difficulties of everyday life. All too often they have no close family members or friends who can give them encouragement, support or breathing space when they most need it.
This is where Home-Start Deeside can help. We provide volunteers who regularly visit families in their own homes to provide practical help, support and friendship. All our volunteers are parents themselves so they understand the pressures and demands that often come with the job.
Our support is free, confidential and non-judgemental.

Current opportunities

We are currently looking for volunteers to help in our Aboyne Shop. Especially on Fridays and Saturdays. Front of house tasks include dealing with the public, managing the till and keeping the shop clean and tidy but there are tasks behind the scenes as well - receiving donations, sorting, pricing and culling. For more information and if you can offer any time at all, please contact the Home-start Deeside office.

Family Visiting Volunteers. Full training given. To offer non-judgemental practical and emotional support to a local family with a child or children aged 5 and under, who are going through times of hardship and stress
