CVS aims to support local people to influence change in their local communities. This includes through supporting community groups, voluntary organisations and social enterprises to operate effectively and to engage strategically with public sector partners.

CVS delivers three main projects:

--- R3SOLVE supports third sector organisations (community groups, voluntary organisations & social enterprises) to deliver great services by offering targeted interventions around governance, planning, management, income generation, staffing and resource management.

--- Inverclyde Third Sector Forum (I3SF) offers networking opportunities for third sector organisations to develop partnerships, represent the views of the third sector and ensure the best outcome for local communities.

--- EAGER for Change works in Greenock Central and East to enable people and communities to better shape their environment and the services they receive through empowering them to influence, co-produce and deliver change.

Current opportunities

CVSI are looking to recruit bank volunteers to support their Isolation & Support Service. This service will be offered to individuals who are unable to access provisions and support when self-isolating through COVID-19. The Isolation & Support Volunteers will be based in various areas throughout Inverclyde on an if and when basis, which will be dependent on the number of service users who may require this support. When needed, you may be asked to carry out a variety of activities including collecting prescriptions & medication and food provision. We are looking for volunteers from all walks of life who want to help support their local community. We would ask that you have good communication skills, have a caring and compassionate nature and are able to deal with stressful situations. It would also be preferred if you have a clean full driving license and access to a vehicle. We will provide you with guidance and support to allow you to carry out this volunteer role. Where possible, we will ask you to volunteer in your local area and provide you with out of pocket expenses. While you may not be needed immediately, you can register your interest here.

CVS Inverclyde are recruiting Bank Volunteers to assist on evenings and weekends to Meet & Greet patients who are attending a community venue to receive the COVID-19 Injection. Community venues are being utilised to all for social distancing and to ensure that GP Practices are not overwhelmed. The volunteers will be required in the short term to assist during increased opening hours at the clinics below: •Greenock Town Hall •Port Glasgow Town Hall •Kilmacolm Community Centre •Other Inverclyde Venues The Vaccine Clinics will be rolled out to all age groups throughout Inverclyde. We expect that a large percentage of the vaccines will be administered via the community venues. Your role will ensure that patients feel welcomed, comfortable, and be on hand to navigate the patients where appropriate.
