Are you looking to gain experience in youth work? The Crew would be a great place to begin. The Crew is based in a group setting and supports young people from P7-S3 and runs every Thursday 5pm to 7pm term time. The Crew takes place in our Arbroath office and is for young people who have been affected by others’ substance use, not engaging in school, and/or have struggles in their home or the wider community. This group can help support young people and provide structure and security. We run sessions which focus on confidence building and life skills such as cooking and budgeting. We also do information sessions on how to keep safe in the community including awareness on drugs, alcohol, vaping and anti-social behaviour.

Supporting staff to plan and facilitate group activities for primary aged children in Kinship care, this group volunteering role would suit someone who is confident and enthusiastic and wants to work with young people. The volunteering role would be from 4pm to 6.30pm every Tuesday during term time, and would support the facilitator to set up the activity and clean up afterwards. There may be additional opportunities during the school holidays.

TCA's Kith & Kin project are looking for a volunteer to facilitate our weekly Kinship Carers group. This is based within our Arbroath office, on Fridays from 10:00-11:30am (school term-time only). Kith&Kin has supported Kinship families in the Angus area for over 6 years - the group is an informal setting for Kinship Carers to come together and access support & guidance from the facilitator, as well as from their peers who have shared experiences. We are looking for someone to join us who is: • Enthusiastic • A great listener • Passionate about helping others The families we support have been affected by another's substance use, so it is essential that the volunteer in post would feel comfortable and confident in discussing topics in relation to this. Relevant training will be provided before starting, as well as ongoing support from the team and Manager.
