Murton Trust is a registered charity based 2 miles outside of Forfar, Angus. We are an SQA accredited vocational training centre for young people aged 14:19 who are unable to cope with mainstream academic education; are at risk of leaving school with little or no qualifications and that demonstrate some barrier to learning and those at risk of social and employment exclusion as a consequence of little or no school achievement. We also work in partnership with government organisations to provide a unique, innovative and essential service through work experience placements for young people in Angus who have left school.

Murton Trust is a registered charity and Murton Farm, Tea Room and Nature Reserve is also a popular visitor attraction based 2 miles outside of Forfar, Angus and currently has opportunities for anyone interested in volunteering. Do you have a few hours to spare? Would you like to get involved in helping Murton Trust? As an adult volunteer with us you can share a particular skill you have whether that be organisational providing office support, photography social media and estate management. However, experience or specific skill set is not needed as we will provide training to volunteers. If you have the ability to work independently this is highly advantageous, however, should you require a bit of support this is also available for a limited number of people too. We are situated on a former quarry near Forfar in Angus and manage a thriving nature reserve, visitor farm and tearoom set in 100 acres. The vision - to provide a unique environment in which children, young people and adults can learn and develop skills for life. The mission - Murton aspires to enrich people’s lives by using our site to its full potential. We can offer our unique environment as an educational centre that offers a positive impact on all ages. We hope to be a thriving and sustainable charity valued in the community and recognised nationally. The aims of Murton are: • To provide educational opportunities that encourages learning and developing skills for life. • To maintain and establish a thriving nature reserve that encourages access to the outdoors. • To effectively run a visitor farm and tearoom on our site that offers a recreational and leisure facility and generates income to support our educational work. • To maintain and develop strong connections with our community through our leadership, work and on our site. We have compulsory meetings once per quarter. Dependent on the Trustees interest and skills we expect further input throughout the year. As a minimum the Trust Manager speaks to each Trustee at least once a month.

We have many young volunteers who help at weekends and in the holidays when they can. Are you 14-8yrs with a few hours to spare? Would you like to get involved in helping Murton Trust?
