Working throughout Aberdeenshire the organisation aims to advance the education and promote the welfare of children with specific difficulties in accessing learning e.g. autistic spectrum disorders, dyslexia, DCD or dyspraxia and to assist in relieving the needs of these children and their associated families by:
Bringing together parents / guardians of such children.
Supporting parents / guardians as they seek to help their children achieve the best possible educational, social and personal outcomes.
Providing the opportunities for all those with a personal or professional interest to share knowledge, information and experience in this field.
Promoting an understanding and awareness in the community of these difficulties.


Current opportunity

SCILL (SCIO) is run by a committee of trustees responsible for governance and planning, supported by our Administrator. Trustees will help steer the charity and help prioritise activities to support children with Additional Needs and their parents/carers. The role of trustee with SCILL (SCIO) involves attending monthly committee meetings and helping to run events during term time. Current trustees include teachers and parents, and anyone with an interest in contributing to SCILL’s aims is welcome to join and contribute in their own way. Experience of ASN is not essential.
