The Boys Brigade, Stirling and District Batttalion

The Boys' Brigade was founded in Glasgow in 1883 by Sir William Alexander Smith and are rightly proud of our Scottish Heritage.
We are a Christian organisation which cares for and challenges young people for life through a programme of informal education in a fun way. Each week around 20,000 young people, aged 5 to 18, take part in one of our 450 groups.

Current opportunity

You will get to join an enthusiastic team of adults from all backgrounds volunteering time each week to prepare, assist with and lead activities with one of our Boys' Brigade age groups. Training is provided during the first 12 months and lots of resources are available to give you ideas for games, skills, physical, outdoor, craft, bible and other activities - and your new ideas are welcome, too! From time to time you might volunteer outside the times of the normal weekly meeting for trips, competitions, visits, fundraisers or even residentials and camps. These are all part of the enjoyment of being a BB leader and important for building trust and positive relationships over time. An enhanced PVG check is required before volunteering can begin and you'll be asked to take part in some safeguarding training as well. You'll be asked to participate in an enjoyable and stimulating training programme with other new and existing leaders during your first year in the role to help you gain skills and confidence.
