The Lead Volunteer will support the Regional Digital Inclusion Coordinators supervising, training and guiding Digital Champion volunteers. It is expected that the Lead Volunteer will support up to 10 volunteers delivering digital sessions to our clients as well as ideally delivering sessions themselves.
Key activities include:
• Inducting volunteers to Discover IT clients and centres, to Digital Champion toolkits and processes
• Liaise between the Coordinator, the clients, centres and volunteers
• Encouraging disabled people to feel confident in using computer technology
• Ideally helping clients set up and get started on their IT equipment, troubleshooting IT issues and supporting clients with basic IT skills.
As a Digital Buddy, you will help a client get set up and started with a tablet or computer; provide ongoing support by video call, email, or phone; support the client to learn digital skills such as making video calls, web browsing, sending email, shopping online, using email; encourage the client to feel confident in using technology.
