Action in Mind is concerned with the welfare and rights of people who have experienced, or experience, mental ill-health or related problems and promotes good mental health.
Current opportunities
In this role, the volunteer will work with the AiM fundraising committee, planning, promoting and coordinating the running of charity fundraisers with the intention of raising funds for Action in Mind. Events could include: charity runs, bake sales, fayres etc.
Responsibilities may include:
Prior to Event
• Help to identify & obtain event space
• Event promotion (distribute leaflets, flyers etc)
• Obtain prizesor stall holders where applicable
On the Day
• Sell entry tickets, raffles tickets etc.
• Make hot beverages & collect associated monies for these
• Assist with set-up/tidy up of event
• Lead a stall (where applicable)
• Be a go-to person to assist with any guest queries, help stallholders etc.
Our hub service volunteers will provide person-centred support and build relationships with group service users to facilitate engagement. This role also requires the hub volunteer to propose group activities, intending to build upon or develop new service user interests. These activities may include: cinema trips, gardening, walks, or day trips (i.e. Falkirk canal). The hub volunteers will also play an active role in improving the service users' self-confidence and motivation.
Training and additional support will be provided.
This role will require the admin volunteer to provide support to the Administrator and other staff members as and when required. This opportunity is FLEXIBLE as the admin volunteer will provide administration holiday cover and secretarial support. The core responsibilities of this role include:
•Answering the phone, directing calls, dealing with enquiries in the Administrator’s absence
•Answering the door, providing hospitality if required
•Monitoring stationery stock levels
•Checking and put away stationary deliveries and checking of delivery sheets
•Maintaining the room booking diary
•Labelling, stamping, filling envelopes for mailshots
•Taking initial enquiries, through the door enquiries providing information, advice and signposting
