Banchory Day Centre
Charity registered in Scotland
The Centre provides games and entertainment and an opportunity to socialise with other members. Volunteers are required to be cheerful and to assist members in any way necessary to enable them to participate fully in Centre activities. Assistance serving (pre-prepared) meals and teas/coffees (plus setting out and clearing away tables).
We need volunteers to drive probably a couple of members to the centre to arrive around 10 am and return them home again at around 3.30 pm each Thursday. Members requiring transport live not far from Banchory so no great driving distances are involved. A friendly disposition and a willingness to see members safely into their homes is all we ask. Expenses can be claimed back from Aberdeenshire Council by completing a simple form. Volunteers will be required to check with their insurers that they are covered to carry out such transport.
Volunteers to help out in the centre. There are 2 shifts (9-12.30 and 12.30-4pm) and people can say how often they would like to be on the rota etc Duties include serving tea/coffee and lunches, chatting with members, playing games etc.
Banchory Day Centre meets at Dalvenie Gardens Resource Centre every Thursday from 9.30am to 2.30pm.
We are seeking an Entertainment Organiser to book weekly entertainment. This role can be carried out from home, and does not require attendance at Dalvenie. We have a comprehensive list of high quality entertainers who can be regularly approached, but our members are also very open to new experiences.
Entertainment is not essential every single week but we do try to have someone coming in most weeks, usually in the afternoon.
