Pillar supports people isolated and disadvantaged in their community by Mental illness and emotional or social difficulties. Working in partnership with service users, their support networks and volunteers, we aim to build motivation & capacity to change through a programme of weekly activities that share learning, and empower participants to better self-manage their conditions.


Current opportunities

Pillar Kincardine is a local Mental Health charity whose mission is to improve the lives of adults living in Kincardine and Mearns seeking help to cope with emotional, social or mental health challenges. We’re looking for a proactive individual with fundraising/grant application skills to sit on the Board of Trustees and ensure the organisation has appropriate fundraising/grant controls and strategies in place to sustain its future development. Duties of the Fundraising Trustee include: • Development and implementation of the organisation’s funding strategy • Income generation and event planning - supporting the organisation to identify fundraising opportunities. • Identify potential funding streams and assist in applications for additional funding through grants, bursaries, and charitable donations. • Contributing to strategic development of the organisation • Raising the profile of Pillar Kincardine as valuable community resource Ideal volunteer will be passionate about ensuring Pillar’s continued capacity to provide locally accessible services for people living with long term mental health conditions. Pillar Kincardine offers a needs led service furnishing individuals with the range of skills and opportunities they need to self-manage their mental health and establish meaningful community connections through a variety of professionally designed and facilitated community groups and projects. Interest in the challenges facing people living with long term mental health conditions. Meetings held in Stonehaven approximately 6 weekly for a couple of hours Support Good support/training provided to all volunteers. All help greatly appreciated. Pillar Kincardine are keen to appoint a Company Secretary to support our Board of Trustees in ensuring the charity can continue to improve the lives of adults living in Kincardine and Mearns seeking help to cope with emotional, social and mental health challenges. While the Board takes its duties and responsibilities very seriously, it is very friendly, mutually supportive and prefers to be as informal as the business allows. Duties of the Company Secretary include: • Support the chairman in ensuring the board functions efficiently and effectively. • Set dates / invitations for meetings and AGM’S • Prepare and distribute agenda prior to board meetings and AGM • Prepare minutes from each meeting in a timely manner, accurately recording the decisions, commitments and major points discussed, ensuring actions are assigned by the committee to appropriate individuals. • Ensure the organisation remains compliant with the Pillar Articles of Association and all applicable legal and statutory requirements. • Ensure that all board members are registered with Companies House Pillar Kincardine offers a needs led service furnishing individuals with the range of skills and opportunities they need to self-manage their mental health and establish meaningful community connections through a variety of professionally designed and facilitated community groups and projects. We are continually developing our service to meet the mental health support needs of our local community.
