We are a local charity supporting young families across Clackmannanshire who are struggling due to mental health illness, domestic abuse, disability and loneliness.

We provide a package of emotional, social, financial and practical support consisting of regular home-visiting support from a Family Support Volunteer as well as direct support from a Family Support Co-ordinator, as well as a cluster of family support groups running in Alloa, Tullibody and Tillicoultry to being families together, to encourage community engagement, positive parenting and opportunities to enjoy activities as a family unit.


Current opportunities

JOIN THE TEAM AND YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO: • Welcome and greet customers • Work on the till, processing sales • Prepare stock, including sorting and steaming • Create stylish window displays • Replenish stock on the shop floor • Complete a full induction programme • Undertake training such as Retail Skills, Manual Handling, First Aid etc A HOME-START VOLUNTEER SHOULD: • Preferably have retail experience • Have a positive attitude to working with people of any gender, status or sexual identity, or who are from any ethnic origin, culture or religion, or who may have a disability • Demonstrate a sensitive and caring attitude towards others • Have a non-judgemental attitude • Be clear about confidentiality • Be reliable and understand the importance of reliability • Have good communication skills including an ability to listen • Understand the need for sensitivity when dealing with customer • Have a warm and open personality and a sense of humour • Have time and enthusiasm for Home-Start • Be able to work as a member of a team THEY’LL PROVIDE: • Uniform (Polo-shirt and Hoodie) • Ongoing support from Shop Manager • 2-to-4-hour shift patterns at times to suit you • Refreshments and lunch (depending on shift length) • Travel expenses • Volunteer Training and Socialisation Calendar of events

Would you like to join a Board of Trustees? Home-Start Clackmannanshire are looking for new trustees to help their charity in its great work supporting local young families. The Board are looking for Trustees who will passionately inform their services bringing new skills and experience to help lead the organisation. Home-Start are particularly (but not exclusively) interested in individuals with experience in the following fields: - Finance - Fundraising - Marketing and Digital Innovation - Hospitality Home-Start are looking for people who share their values; that are passionate and committed about supporting local young families; who can be creative in building the group's profile; and work closely with their team and stakeholders to deliver outstanding person-centred services to our beneficiaries. The Board usually meet in the evenings (either in-person or via Zoom). The role is non-remunerated however reasonable expenses will be reimbursed and training / ongoing support will be provided.
