Alcohol & Drugs Action is a leading provider of alcohol and drug support services in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire. Our services are open to individuals, family members and friends.

ADA - Alcohol & Drugs Action is an award-winning charity, delivering specialist services to reduce harms and promote recovery of individuals and families affected by alcohol and drugs in the Northeast of Scotland. We are contracted through Health and Social Care in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire, as main provider for such services. If you share our passion for supporting and enabling recovery for people and families affected by substance use, why not join our board to help shape our strategic direction and make sure we focus on what matters. We welcome applications from people with lived experience who have been affected by alcohol and drug issues. We also welcome candidates who have governance experience and/or expertise at board or senior management level in their field, especially with skills and experience in the following areas: *Finance/financial management *Governance and quality assurance *Fundraising and campaigning *Stewardship of charity assets *Successful candidates will have the enthusiasm to make a real difference. We offer training and development opportunities to enhance the knowledge and skills of all board members. This is an opportunity for all regardless of professional or personal experience. Time commitment for board members is an average of 6 hours per month for attendance at board and subgroup meetings. Meetings are in person with remote access as required. ADA-Alcohol & Drugs Action have opportunities for Volunteer Complementary Therapists to support people who require this service in their recovery journey. The DA Music Group is looking for a volunteer with musical background who would be able to tutor either individuals or a group in some aspect of music. The group does not stick to one specific style of music so the wider the volunteer’s knowledge and experience the better. The idea of the music group is to allow an outlet for clients musical creativity and to help them to reconnect with society and gain confidence and self-esteem. Essential qualities are patience, creativity, and the ability to bring people together. ADA-Alcohol & Drugs Action have opportunities for Creative Group Volunteers to support people who require this service in their recovery journey. Do you have a creative skill that you can share with our service users? We are looking for people with skills and knowledge in all areas of the arts who can help us to devise and deliver creative groups and sessions or one-to –one tutoring in all of our Aberdeen services. Anything from creative writing to crochet, upholstery to cake decorating we are welcome to any suggestions. As well as Creative Group Volunteers we also have a range of other volunteer opportunities such as Volunteer Buddies, Volunteer Complementary Therapists, Mini Bus Driver, Volunteer Gardener and Volunteer Music Group Assistant. ADA-Alcohol & Drugs Action have opportunities for Volunteer Mini Bus Drivers to support people who require this service in their recovery journey. Our Activity group helps people trying to get away from problematic drug use, who want to meet others on a similar journey and want to do leisure activities on a Friday afternoon. We require an enthusiastic, motivated individual to drive a minibus and assist our Activity Group by driving one Friday afternoon per month.
