The driver (while adhering to Transport Scotland Covid 19 travel regulations) shall assist older adults from their house door to the vehicle and ensure the individual is safely seated and secure in the vehicle, ensuring any mobility aid is stored safely. Taking the individual to destination and ensuring that the passenger is escorted safely to appointment location (e.g. patient waiting room). The driver will usually be asked to wait and return the passenger safely home. You should be a safe driver, have good communication skills, a good geographical knowledge of Central Scotland and be interested in assisting older people. This is an exceptionally popular service.

This opportunity is for volunteers to get involved with older people in the wider Shotts and Wishaw areas, offering one to one befriending, telephone befriending or group befriending.
To assist in the day to day running of cycling activities includes assisting coach/leader in delivery of cycling sessions, upkeep of bike fleet (cleaning, basic maintenance)
The volunteer should be willing to participate in all aspects of the activity.
• Setting up of cycling sessions
• Observing participants for safety
• Storing and upkeep of equipment
• Including basic maintenance
• Cleaning of bikes
As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to support our different walking projects. You’ll learn about the impact of walking and nature connectedness for health and well-being and gain skills in leadership and communication.
To assist in the day to day running of walking activities including a breakfast club & walking bus for primary school kids, health walks, buggy walks, and strength & balance initiatives.
The volunteer should be willing to participate in all aspects of the activity which include:
• Helping lead walks at local parks and greenspace.
• Helping set-up and run the breakfast club (including making breakfasts and doing fun activities)
• Walking kids to school on time for 8.50am.
• Observing participants for safety.
• Registering new walkers on the Paths for All database
• Making new walkers feel welcome.
• Enjoy a cup of tea and meet new people!
