The Machan Trust

Charity registered in Scotland SC027915

The Machan Trust aims to meet young people where they are at and build trusting relationships with them. Then working together, to encourage and help adopt healthy decision-making processes in relevant life issues. These issues may include self-esteem, drugs, sexual health awareness, bullying and others.

Current opportunity

The Machan Trust is seeking volunteers to support breakfast groups in primary schools within the Larkhall area. Volunteers are responsible for meeting and greeting the children on arrival in the school dining area, directing children to the toast and cereal station, taking time to engage and build a rapport with the children and helping with the tidy up. Breakfast clubs have been shown to benefit children by providing the opportunity to eat a healthy breakfast, develop social skills, play with friends, and prepare for their day at school. This is an ideal volunteering opportunity for early risers and is a great way to start the day. Organisation aims and objectives The vision of the Machan Trust is building stronger, resilient children, families and communities. Working together with communities we support and inspire children, young people and families to thrive. We will treat everyone with dignity, inclusion and respect.
