The Machan Trust are seeking volunteers to work alongside a Children's Worker to support and engage primary school children in their schools while they attend activity groups during their lunch time.
Volunteers will support the Children's Worker to deliver lunch time activity groups to children in primary schools across the Larkhall area. Children within the primary schools are given the opportunity to come to the group after they have eaten lunch to take part in a variety of activities and supported play. The volunteers will be asked to assist by chatting to the children and building relationships with them, while encouraging them to take part in activities.
The Machan Trust is seeking volunteers to support breakfast groups in primary schools within the Larkhall area. Volunteers are responsible for meeting and greeting the children on arrival in the school dining area, directing children to the toast and cereal station, taking time to engage and build a rapport with the children and helping with the tidy up. Breakfast clubs have been shown to benefit children by providing the opportunity to eat a healthy breakfast, develop social skills, play with friends, and prepare for their day at school. This is an ideal volunteering opportunity for early risers and is a great way to start the day.
