Volunteers receive full training and expenses.

Current opportunities

COVEY are looking for volunteer drivers to transport some of the vulnerable young people we work with to various locations throughout Lanarkshire to participate in activities. Most of this work takes place during weeknights; especially during school term time.

This role involves being matched with a young person and taking them out in the community once a week. Activities will be planned and driven by you and your match. Popular outings include; going out for a meal, the cinema, bowling and outdoor activities. If you work shifts or have an irregular schedule, no problem, your outings can be flexible to suit you. Travel and out of pocket expenses are paid. Access to your own transport is required.

As a group Befriender, you and a team of volunteers, will support a staff member to bring a group of 10-12 young people together for 2 hours once a week. Activities include games, sports and arts and crafts. Young people are transported to and from the group by staff and volunteers. Travel expenses are paid and access to a car is preferred, Volunteering with COVEY can help you... * Meet new people * Gain new skills * Build confidence and self-esteem * Give back to your local community * Have fun!
