To continue the success of our Credit Union, we need more Board Members. This is where we need your help! Would you be interested in becoming a Volunteer Board Member at WHEB Credit Union or know anyone else who may be interested?
Having Board Members is a legal requirement and we are obliged to comply with FCA/PRA guidelines to have a minimum of five Board Members at all times. If we are unable to comply with these guidelines, we risk the closure of WHEB Credit Union and the local community losing a much-needed facility. The Board of Directors are responsible for ensuring that the Credit Union applies for, obtains and maintains all necessary permission to operate legally within the Financial Services Industry.
As a Director, you can do as much or as little as you like. Full training is given for free and there is a choice of roles that you can undertake as a Director. The Board come together once a month to discuss financial performance, communications and governance. It is a very rewarding role and can keep you active and improve your skills – it also looks great on a CV! All we ask is that you can commit to a minimum of one hour per month to attend the Board Meetings.
