The Orkney British Red Cross provides support at home, transport and mobility aids to help people when they face a crisis in their daily lives. If you need help with transport to and from medical appointments, help with shopping or other everyday tasks or would like to hire a wheelchair please get in touch. We also have guesthouses in Kirkwall and Aberdeen for folk who are visiting relatives or in transit between hospital appointments. Why we want you. Can you help young people build essential life skills? Community Education delivers free confidence-building workshops to over 100 ,000 people every year and we want you to help us in our mission to provide life-saving and life-changing education to help our communities become more resilient. You will empower young people by delivering workshops on topics such as ‘Everyday First Aid’, ‘Coping with Challenges’ and ‘Empathy and Migration’. This is a wonderful opportunity to represent the British Red Cross in your local community and gain experience in the voluntary sector, whilst working with a supportive and inclusive team. What you will be doing/ - Deliver a range of interactive workshops to young people in schools and youth settings. - Promote our Community Education workshops within your community.
