Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) Perth & Kinross

Charity registered in Scotland SC038924

We’re here to help people keep leading independent, healthy and happy lives, by offering a helping hand where it’s needed. Our volunteers offer practical support by taking care of the things the people we serve are less able to do for themselves, like shopping or getting to and from social activities.
Volunteers also provide social and emotional support, just by being there in person or on the phone.

Current opportunities

This role will let you meet new people and support them to get out and about. You'll gain knowledge about your local community and can volunteer in your own time. Support at Home volunteers transform the lives of individuals by supporting and empowering them to live the life they want and stay connected to their communities. Whether it is company to go shopping, guidance on nutrition, or being there to improve confidence and reduce isolation, you will make a real difference to the people that you support. You will work with an individual to identify what would improve their life and then support them to take positive steps to connect to their community and reduce their isolation. This could include one-to-one or group activities and may link into other services in the area - whatever suits the person. Your role will involve elements of lone working and building a relationship with those you visit, which is hugely rewarding for both you and the people you support. You will receive relevant training for your role and will be welcomed and supported by a member of the Perth & Kinross Royal Voluntary Service team.
